[601] **"Whosoever these are, abiding in views" (ye keci 'me diṭṭhiparibbasānā):** "Whosoever" (ye keci) — all in their entirety, all in every way, without remainder, with nothing left over; this word "whosoever" is an expression of complete inclusion.
**"Abiding in views" (diṭṭhiparibbasānā):** there are some ascetics and brahmins who are adherents of speculative views (diṭṭhigatikā). They, having taken, taken up, grasped, misapprehended (parāmasitvā), and clung to one or another of the sixty-two speculative views, dwell, dwell together, dwell settled, and dwell enveloped, each in his own view (diṭṭhi). Just as householders dwell in houses, or those with offenses (āpatti) dwell in offenses, or those with defilements (kilesa) dwell in defilements, even so there are some ascetics and brahmins who are adherents of speculative views: they, having taken, taken up, grasped, misapprehended, and clung to one or another of the sixty-two speculative views, dwell, dwell together, dwell settled, and dwell enveloped, each in his own view. Therefore it is said: "whosoever these are, abiding in views."
