[602] **"They assert: 'This alone is true'"** means: they say, declare, speak, explain, and express: "The world is eternal; this alone is true, anything else is vain." They say, declare, speak, explain, and express: "The world is not eternal … the Tathāgata after death neither exists nor does not exist; this alone is true, anything else is vain." Therefore it is said: "They assert: 'This alone is true.'"
