[611] Whatever conventions (sammati) there may be, born of worldlings.
"Whatever": this is an expression of total inclusion — all in its entirety, everything in every way, without remainder, leaving nothing out. Such is the word "whatever."
"Conventions": the sixty-two views (diṭṭhigata) are called conventions.
"Born of worldlings" (puthujjā): either those conventions are generated by worldlings (puthujjana), hence they are "born of worldlings"; or those conventions are generated by many and various people, hence they are "born of worldlings."
Thus: "Whatever conventions there may be, born of worldlings."
