[615] "Purity (suddhi) is through self-restraint," declare those who hold virtue (sīla) supreme; having undertaken a vow (vatta), they stand devoted to it: "Let us train right here — then there would be purity for him" — claiming to be skilled, they are led on into existence (bhava).
