[638] **"For whom there is here no passing away and reappearance (cutūpapāta)"** — "for whom": for the Arahant whose taints (āsava) are destroyed. Coming, going, going and coming, death (kāla), destination, existence in this or that state (bhavābhava), passing away and reappearance, coming into being and dissolution, and birth, aging, and death — these are not, do not exist, are not found, are not apprehended; they are abandoned, cut off, stilled, quieted, rendered incapable of arising again, burned up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). Hence, "for whom there is here no passing away and reappearance."
