[654] *Firmly asserting their own way*: the dhamma is one's own way (sakāyana); the view is one's own way; the practice (paṭipadā) is one's own way; the path is one's own way. Regarding their own way they are firm speakers, steadfast speakers, forceful speakers, resolute speakers; thus, "firmly asserting their own way." Therefore the Blessed One said:
If one would be inferior because of another's disparagement,
then no one would be distinguished among dhammas;
for many speak of another's dhamma as inferior,
while firmly asserting their own way.
