[671] **"A person, when seeing, sees name-and-form (nāmarūpa)"**: *A person, when seeing* — whether seeing with the knowledge (ñāṇa) of others' minds (paracittañāṇa), or seeing with the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussatiñāṇa), or seeing with the fleshly eye (maṃsacakkhu), or seeing with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu) — sees only name-and-form as permanent, as pleasant, as self; he does not see the origin, or the passing away, or the gratification, or the danger, or the escape in regard to those dhammas. Therefore it is said: "A person, when seeing, sees name-and-form."
