[680] A brahmin (brāhmaṇa) does not enter into figment (kappa), into reckoning (saṅkhā); he is not a follower of views, nor is he bound even to knowledge (ñāṇa); and having known the conventions of the common folk, he looks on with equanimity while others grasp. #1–2 "parivodāta …" is also a reading. #3 M(aramma edition): "suddhiṃvādo." #4 M: "saṅkhā"; so everywhere.
