[908] **"By which a bhikkhu should not tremble"** — **"by which"** means: by which terrifying things (bherava). Having seen or heard terrifying things, he should not tremble, should not quake, should not quiver; he should not be frightened, should not be terrified, should not be alarmed; he should not fear, should not fall into terror. He should be fearless, undaunted, unterrified, not one who flees; he should dwell with fear and dread abandoned, with horripilation gone. Hence, **"by which a bhikkhu should not tremble."**
