[959] "These thoughts, which are grounds for lamentation" — "these thoughts" means: the two thoughts (vitakka) connected with almsfood and the two thoughts connected with lodging, which are grounds for lamentation — that is, grounds for wailing (ādevaneyya), grounds for lamentation (paridevaneyya). Hence, "these thoughts, which are grounds for lamentation."
