[165] **Ablution with water (udakasuddhikā)** means: the washing of the private parts (muttakaraṇa) is what is so called. **Taking it up** means: washing. **It should be taken up to the depth of two finger-joints at most** means: it may be taken up with two fingers to the depth of two joints at most. **Going beyond that** means: if she, consenting to the contact, goes beyond that even by so much as a hair's tip, there is an offense entailing confession (pācittiya).
