[189] **"Whatever"** (yā pana): whoever, of whatever sort … . **"Bhikkhunī"**: … this bhikkhunī is the one intended in this sense.
**"Concealed"** (paṭicchanno) place means: a place that is concealed by a wall, by a door-panel, by a bamboo matting, by a canvas screen-wall, by a tree, by a pillar, by a granary, or by anything whatsoever.
**"Man"** (puriso) means: a male human being — not a yakkha, not a peta, not an animal — one who is intelligent, capable of standing together and of conversing.
**"With"** (saddhiṃ): together.
**"One with one"** (ekeneka): there is just a man and a bhikkhunī.
**"Should stand together"** (santiṭṭheyya vā): she stands within arm's reach (hatthapāsa) of the man — an offense entailing confession (pācittiya).
**"Or should converse"** (sallapeyya vā): standing within arm's reach of the man, she converses — an offense entailing confession.
Having gone beyond arm's reach, she stands together or converses — an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa).
She stands together or converses with a yakkha, or a peta, or a paṇḍaka, or an animal having a human form — an offense of wrong-doing.
