[27] **"Whoever (yā pana)"**: whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhunī"**: … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context.
**"Filled with desire (avassutā)"** means: lustful, longing, with a mind bound [by desire].
**"Filled with desire (avassuto)"** [said of the man] means: lustful, longing, with a mind bound.
**"Male person (purisapuggala)"** means: a human male — not a yakkha, not a peta, not an animal — one who is intelligent and capable of engaging in bodily contact (kāyasaṃsagga).
**"Or should consent to the holding of her hand"**: "hand" means from the elbow up to the tips of the nails. If, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act (asaddhamma), she consents to being held [anywhere] above the collarbone or below the knee, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should consent to the holding of the edge of her saṅghāṭi"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, she consents to the holding of what she has put on as a lower robe or wrapped around as an upper robe, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should stand [with him]"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, she stands within arm's reach (hatthapāsa) of the man, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should converse [with him]"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, she converses while standing within arm's reach of the man, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should go to a rendezvous"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, having been told by the man, "Come to such-and-such a place," she goes, there is an offense of dukkaṭa for each step; as soon as she has come within arm's reach of the man, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should consent to the man's approach"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, she consents to the man's approaching, there is an offense of dukkaṭa; as soon as he has come within arm's reach, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should enter into a concealed place"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, as soon as she has entered a place concealed by anything whatsoever, there is an offense of thullaccaya.
**"Or should dispose her body for that purpose"**: if, for the purpose of indulging in that unrighteous act, standing within arm's reach of the man, she disposes her body [toward him], there is an offense of thullaccaya.
