[445] Now at that time a certain bhikkhunī was ill; without a sunshade and sandals (chattupāhana) she was not at ease. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a sunshade and sandals for a bhikkhunī who is ill. And thus, bhikkhus, let the bhikkhunīs recite this training rule (sikkhāpada): 'Whatever bhikkhunī, not being ill, should use a sunshade and sandals, there is an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya).'"
