[153] **"That I shall declare to you, as I understand it" (taṃ te pavakkhāmi yathā pajānaṃ).**
**"That I shall declare to you" (taṃ te pavakkhāmi):** I shall declare to you the root of that suffering (dukkha), I shall declare the cause, I shall declare the source (nidāna), I shall declare the origination (sambhava), I shall declare the production (pabhava), I shall declare the arising (samuṭṭhāna), I shall declare the nutriment (āhāra), I shall declare the object (ārammaṇa), I shall declare the condition (paccaya), I shall declare the origin (samudaya); I shall tell it, teach it, make it known, set it forth, disclose it, analyze it, make it plain, explain it. Therefore, "that I shall declare to you."
**"As I understand it" (yathā pajānaṃ):** Understanding, knowing, discerning, recognizing, penetrating it as it is, I shall speak of the Dhamma directly known by myself, evident to myself (attapaccakkha) — not through hearsay (itihitiha), not through report (itikirā), not through lineage of teaching (paramparā), not through scriptural collections, not through logic, not through inference, not through reasoned reflection on appearances, not through acceptance of a view after consideration. Therefore, "as I understand it."
