[167] **I shall proclaim to you the Dhamma**: I shall proclaim the holy life (brahmacariya) that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, with its meaning and with its phrasing, entirely complete and pure; and the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna), the four right strivings (sammappadhāna), the four bases of success (iddhipāda), the five faculties (indriya), the five powers (bala), the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), the noble eightfold path, Nibbāna, and the way of practice (paṭipadā) leading to Nibbāna — I shall proclaim,¹ teach, make known, establish, disclose, analyze, make plain, and reveal them. Hence, "I shall proclaim to you the Dhamma." **Mettagū**: the Blessed One addresses that brahmin by name.
