[196] **"Without impediment, unattached to sensual existence" (akiñcanaṃ kāmabhave asattaṃ):** As to "without impediment (akiñcana)": there is the impediment of lust (rāga), the impediment of hatred, the impediment of delusion, the impediment of conceit (māna), the impediment of view (diṭṭhi), the impediment of defilement (kilesa), the impediment of misconduct (duccarita). One in whom these impediments have been abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burned up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa) — he is called "without impediment."
As to "sensual pleasures (kāmā)": by way of summary (uddāna) there are two kinds of sensual pleasures: objective sensuality (vatthukāma) and subjective sensuality (kilesakāma). … These are called objective sensuality. … These are called subjective sensuality.
As to "existence (bhava)": there are two kinds of existence: existence as action (kammabhava) and renewed existence at rebirth-linking (paṭisandhika punabbhava). … This is existence as action. … This is renewed existence at rebirth-linking.
**"Without impediment, unattached to sensual existence":** without impediment, unattached to sensual existence — not stuck, not clinging, unencumbered; therefore, "without impediment, unattached to sensual existence."
