[222] **"Thus you shall cross this flood (ogha)"** means: thus you would cross, would pass beyond, would go entirely beyond the flood of sensuality, the flood of existence, the flood of views, the flood of ignorance — hence, "thus you shall cross this flood." Therefore the Blessed One said: "I shall not be able to release anyone in the world perplexed by doubt, Dhotaka; but, understanding the supreme Dhamma, thus you shall cross this flood."
