[221] **"And understanding the supreme Dhamma" (dhammañca seṭṭhaṁ ājānamāno):** the supreme Dhamma is said to be the Deathless (amata), Nibbāna — that which is the stilling of all formations (saṅkhārā), the relinquishment of all acquisitions (upadhi), the destruction of craving (taṇhā), dispassion (virāga), cessation, Nibbāna.
**"Supreme" (seṭṭhaṁ):** the foremost, supreme, distinguished, preeminent, highest, most excellent Dhamma.
**"Understanding" (ājānamāno):** understanding, knowing, recognizing, penetrating — hence, "and understanding the supreme Dhamma."
