[244] **"Not dependent, I am not able to cross" (anissito no visahāmi tāritun ti):** "Not dependent" (anissito) means: not dependent on a person, or not dependent on a dhamma.
"I am not able" (no visahāmi) means: I do not endeavor, I am not able, I am not capable.
"To cross" (tāritun) means: to cross, to cross over, to cross beyond, to transcend, to pass beyond the great flood (ogha) of sensuality, the flood of existence, the flood of views, the flood of ignorance. Therefore it is said: "Not dependent, I am not able to cross."
