Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Cūḷaniddesa · Vol. 30 · Section 347

[347] **In whom sensual pleasures (kāmā) do not dwell**: in whom sensual pleasures do not dwell, do not dwell together, do not flow in [1]. **Thus the venerable Todeyya** (iccāyasmā Todeyyo): **"Icca" (thus)** is a verbal connective (padasandhi) … this word "icca" is a term following the sequence of the words. **"Āyasmā" (venerable)**: this is a term of affection, a term of respect; this word "āyasmā" is a designation accompanied by reverence and deference. **"Todeyya"** is that brahmin's name … an appellation. Hence, "thus the venerable Todeyya."
