[368] "When the flood has arisen, when great peril has come to be" (oghe jāte mahabbhaye): when the flood (ogha) of sensuality (kāmogha), the flood of existence (bhavogha), the flood of views (diṭṭhogha), and the flood of ignorance (avijjogha) have arisen, come into being, been produced, been brought forth, become manifest. "When great peril has come to be" (mahabbhaye): when the peril of birth, the peril of aging, the peril of illness, and the peril of death have come to be — hence "when the flood has arisen, when great peril has come to be."
