[408] **You will live at peace (upasanto carissasi):** one is at peace because of the pacification of lust (rāga); one is at peace because of the pacification of hatred; one is at peace because of the pacification of delusion; because anger (kodha), grudging (upanāha) … all unwholesome volitional formations (akusalābhisaṅkhārā) have been pacified, calmed, stilled, extinguished, quenched, made to vanish, and tranquilized, being peaceful, at peace, fully stilled, quenched, and tranquilized, you will live, dwell, carry on, preserve yourself, keep yourself going, and maintain yourself — thus, "you will live at peace." Therefore the Blessed One said:
"Dry up whatever was before; let there be nothing for you afterward;
if you will not grasp in the middle, you will live at peace."
