[416] **"I entreat the one of excellent wisdom, who has abandoned conceivings" (kappañjahaṃ abhiyāce sumedhaṃ):** *Kappā* — there are two conceivings (kappa): the conceiving through craving (taṇhā) and the conceiving through views … this is the conceiving through craving … this is the conceiving through views. For the Buddha, the Blessed One, the conceiving through craving has been abandoned, the conceiving through views has been relinquished; because the conceiving through craving has been abandoned, because the conceiving through views has been relinquished, the Buddha is one who has abandoned conceivings.
**"I entreat" (abhiyāce):** I ask, I entreat, I invite, I consent, I aspire, I long for, I yearn.
**"Of excellent wisdom" (sumedhaṃ):** *Medhā* is a term for wisdom (paññā) — the wisdom that is understanding … non-delusion, investigation of dhammas, right view. The Blessed One is possessed of, fully possessed of, come to, fully come to, arrived at, fully arrived at, and endowed with this medhā, this wisdom; therefore the Buddha is "of excellent wisdom" (sumedha). Hence: "I entreat the one of excellent wisdom, who has abandoned conceivings."
