[443] **"And the dispelling of dullness (thīna)"**: that which is unfitness of the mind (citta), unwieldiness, drooping, shrinking back, sluggishness, being sluggish, the state of being sluggish, dullness, being dull, the state of being dull — this is dullness.
"And the dispelling of dullness": the dispelling of dullness — its abandonment, its calming, its relinquishment, its tranquilization — is the Deathless, Nibbāna. Therefore, "and the dispelling of dullness."
