[477] How is one of such a kind to be led (kathaṃ neyyo tathāvidho)? — How is he to be led, how to be guided, how to be led onward, how to be made to understand, how to be made to reflect closely, how to be made to consider, how to be inspired with confidence? And how is higher knowledge (ñāṇa) to be aroused in him?
Of such a kind (tathāvidho): one of such a kind, such-like, so established, of that sort, of that likeness — he who is an obtainer of the attainment of the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatanasamāpatti). Thus: "How is one of such a kind to be led?" Therefore that brahmin said:
"For one in whom perception (saññā) of form has vanished,
who has abandoned the whole body,
who sees, both internally and externally,
that there is nothing at all —
I ask you, O Sakka, about his knowledge:
how is one of such a kind to be led?"
