[514] **Let me not perish, confused, in the meantime (māhampanassaṃ momuho antarāyā):** let me not be lost, not perish, not be destroyed. **Confused (momuho):** one who does not know, who has gone into ignorance (avijjā), without knowledge (ñāṇa), lacking clear understanding, of poor wisdom. **In the meantime (antarāyā):** "Not having understood your Dhamma, your view, your mode of practice (paṭipadā), your path; not having made it clear, not having made it known, not having attained it, not having touched it, not having realized it, I might die in the very interval." Therefore it is said: "Let me not perish, confused, in the meantime."
