[515] **Teach the Dhamma that I might understand** (ācikkha dhammaṃ yamahaṃ vijaññaṃ). **Teach the Dhamma**: teach, point out, make known, establish, disclose, analyze, make plain, and proclaim the holy life (brahmacariya) that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, with its meaning and with its phrasing, entirely complete and pure; and the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna), the four right exertions (sammappadhāna), the four bases for success (iddhipāda), the five faculties (indriya), the five powers (bala), the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), the noble eightfold path (magga), Nibbāna, and the practice leading to Nibbāna — therefore, "teach the Dhamma."
**That I might understand** (yamahaṃ vijaññaṃ): that I might know, might understand, might recognize, might penetrate, might attain, might touch, might realize — therefore, "teach the Dhamma that I might understand."
