[566] **"Would go from the not-beyond to the beyond" (apārā pāraṃ gaccheyya):** "the not-beyond" (apāra) is said of the defilements (kilesa), the aggregates (khandha), and the volitional formations (abhisaṅkhāra). "The beyond" (pāra) is said of the Deathless (amata), Nibbāna — that which is the stilling of all formations, the relinquishment of all acquisitions (upadhi), the destruction of craving (taṇhā), dispassion, cessation, Nibbāna. **"Would go from the not-beyond to the beyond":** one would go from the not-beyond to the beyond, would attain the beyond, would touch the beyond, would realize the beyond. Therefore, "would go from the not-beyond to the beyond."
