[596] **Radiant is he, the maker of light** (jutimā so pabhaṅkaro): "Radiant" (jutimā) means radiant [1]: a wise man (paṇḍita), wise (paññavā), intelligent (buddhimā), endowed with knowledge (ñāṇa) (ñāṇī), discerning (vibhāvī), sagacious (medhāvī). "Maker of light" (pabhaṅkaro) means [2] a maker of light (ālokakara), a maker of illumination (obhāsakara), a maker of lamps [3] (dīpaṅkara), a maker of radiance (ujjotakara), a maker of effulgence (pajjotakara) — hence "radiant is he, the maker of light."
