[657] "For doubters who acknowledge (kaṅkhīnaṃ paṭijānataṃ)": having come with doubt (kaṅkhā), they become free of doubt; having come with perplexity (salekha),² they become free of perplexity; having come with wavering (dveḷhaka), they become free of wavering; having come with uncertainty (vecikicchā), they become free of uncertainty;³ having come with lust, they become free of lust; having come with hatred, they become free of hatred; having come with delusion, they become free of delusion; having come with defilements (kilesa), they become free of defilements. Hence, "for doubters who acknowledge." Therefore the Elder Piṅgiya said:
"Having directly known the higher deities (adhideve abhiññāya),
he knew everything, high and low (parovaraṃ);
the Teacher, the maker of an end of questions,
for doubters who acknowledge."
