[687] **"And love for sons is abundant" (puttesu ca vipulaṃ hoti pemaṃ):** "Sons" (puttā) — there are four kinds of sons: the son born of oneself (atrajo putto), the son born in the field (khettajo putto), the son given [in adoption] (dinnako putto), and the son who is a resident pupil (antevāsiko putto). "And love for sons is abundant": love (pema) for sons is exceeding in measure — hence, "and love for sons is abundant."
