[705] "One should wander with him, pleased in mind, mindful" (careyya tenattamano satimā): that Paccekasambuddha, together with that prudent (nipaka) companion — one wise (paṇḍita), possessed of wisdom, intelligent, endowed with knowledge (ñāṇa), discerning, sagacious — pleased in mind, contented in mind, glad in mind, gladdened in mind, elated in mind, delighted in mind,⁴ should wander, should roam, should move about, should proceed, should guard, should sustain, should maintain himself; thus, "one should wander with him, pleased in mind."
"Mindful" (satimā): that Paccekasambuddha is mindful, endowed with supreme mindfulness and discretion (sati-nepakka), one who remembers and recollects what was done long ago and what was said long ago; thus, "one should wander with him, pleased in mind, mindful." Therefore that Paccekasambuddha said:
If one should find a prudent companion,
a fellow wanderer, of good conduct, steadfast,
then, having overcome all perils,
one should wander with him, pleased in mind, mindful.
