[711] **Truly we praise the accomplishment of companionship (addhā pasaṃsāma sahāyasampadaṃ):** "Truly" (addhā) — this is an expression of categorical assertion, an expression free from doubt, an expression free from perplexity, an expression that is not twofold, an expression that is not ambiguous, an expression of definiteness, an expression that is unerring [1]; this word "truly" (addhā) is an expression of certitude.
**The accomplishment of companionship (sahāyasampadā):** "the accomplishment of companionship" is said of that companion who is endowed with the aggregate (khandha) of virtue (sīla) of one beyond training (asekha), who is endowed with the aggregate of concentration (samādhi) of one beyond training, with the aggregate of wisdom (paññā) of one beyond training, with the aggregate of liberation (vimutti) of one beyond training, and with the aggregate of the knowledge (ñāṇa) and vision of liberation of one beyond training.
**Truly we praise the accomplishment of companionship:** we praise, extol, celebrate, and commend the accomplishment of companionship; hence, "truly we praise the accomplishment of companionship."
