[743] **"One in whom knowledge has arisen, who is not to be led by another"**: in that Paccekasambuddha knowledge (ñāṇa) has arisen, fully arisen, been produced, been brought forth, become manifest. The knowledge "all conditioned things (saṅkhārā) are impermanent" has arisen, fully arisen, been produced, been brought forth, become manifest; the knowledge "all conditioned things are suffering (dukkha)" … the knowledge "whatever is of a nature to originate, all that is of a nature to cease" has arisen, fully arisen, been produced, been brought forth, become manifest — thus "one in whom knowledge has arisen."
**"Not to be led by another"**: that Paccekasambuddha is not to be led by another, not reliant upon another, not dependent on another, not one who goes bound to another; unconfused, clearly comprehending, mindful, he knows and sees as it really is that "all conditioned things are impermanent" … that "whatever is of a nature to originate, all that is of a nature to cease" — not to be led by another, not reliant upon another, not dependent on another, not one who goes bound to another, unconfused, clearly comprehending, mindful, he knows and sees as it really is — thus "one in whom knowledge has arisen, who is not to be led by another." **"One should wander alone like the horn of a rhinoceros."** Therefore that Paccekasambuddha said:
Having passed beyond the thorny tangles of views,
having reached the fixed course, having gained the path,
I am one in whom knowledge has arisen, not to be led by another —
one should wander alone like the horn of a rhinoceros.
