[746] **Free from denigration (makkha), with corruption (kasāva) and delusion purged**: As to "denigration" — whatever denigration there is, the act of denigrating, the state of one who denigrates, churlishness (niṭṭhuriya), churlish action: this is denigration.
As to "corruption" — greed is a corruption, hatred is a corruption, delusion is a corruption; anger (kodha), grudging (upanāha), denigration, domineering (paḷāsa) … all unwholesome volitional formations are corruptions.
As to "delusion" — not knowing with regard to suffering (dukkha), not knowing with regard to the origin of suffering, not knowing with regard to the cessation of suffering, not knowing with regard to the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering; not knowing with regard to the past, not knowing with regard to the future, not knowing with regard to both past and future; not knowing with regard to dhammas dependently arisen through specific conditionality (idappaccayatā) — such not-knowing, non-seeing, non-comprehension, non-understanding, non-awakening, non-penetration, failure to grasp, failure to fathom, failure to consider evenly, non-reflection, absence of direct verification, dull-wittedness, foolishness, lack of clear comprehension, delusion, bewilderment, the flood of ignorance (avijjā), the yoke of ignorance, the latent tendency of ignorance, the obsession of ignorance, the net of ignorance, the bar of ignorance, delusion the unwholesome root: this is delusion.
For that Paccekasambuddha, denigration, corruption, and delusion have been disgorged, purged, abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa); therefore that Paccekasambuddha is free from denigration, with corruption and delusion purged.
