[792] **"With energy aroused (āraddhaviriyo) for the attainment of the highest goal (paramattha)"**: the highest goal is called the Deathless (amata), Nibbāna — that is, the stilling of all volitional formations (sabbasaṅkhārasamatha), the relinquishment of all acquisitions (upadhi), the destruction of craving (taṇhā), dispassion, cessation, Nibbāna.
He dwells with energy aroused for the attainment, for the gain, for the obtaining, for the achievement, for the contacting, for the realization of the highest goal; he is strong, of firm exertion, not laying down the burden with regard to wholesome dhammas, for the abandoning of unwholesome dhammas and for the accomplishment of wholesome dhammas. Hence, "with energy aroused for the attainment of the highest goal."
