[808] **As a lion, strong in its fangs, the king of beasts, lives having attacked and overpowered (sīho yathā dāṭhabalī pasayha rājā migānaṃ abhibhuyyacārī):** just as the lion, the king of beasts (migarājā), strong in its fangs, having its fangs as its weapon, having vanquished, overpowered, overwhelmed, mastered, and crushed all creatures that have gone to the animal state, goes about, roams about, moves, proceeds, protects itself, sustains itself, and keeps itself going; even so the Paccekasambuddha, strong in wisdom (paññā), having wisdom as his weapon, having vanquished, overpowered, overwhelmed, mastered, and crushed all living beings by wisdom, goes about, roams about, moves, proceeds, protects himself, sustains himself, and keeps himself going. Hence, "as a lion, strong in its fangs, the king of beasts, lives having attacked and overpowered."
