[809] **Should resort to remote lodgings** (seveṭha pantāni senāsanāni): just as the lion, king of beasts, having plunged into the remote forest wilderness, wanders, roams, moves about, carries on, guards himself, maintains himself, and sustains himself, even so a Paccekasambuddha resorts to remote lodgings (senāsana) in the remote forest wilderness—of little sound, of little noise, with a lonely atmosphere, lying hidden away from people, suitable for retreat. He goes alone, stands alone, sits alone, makes his bed alone, enters the village for alms alone, goes forward alone, returns alone, sits alone in a secluded place, determines upon the walking path alone; alone he wanders, roams, moves about, carries on, guards himself, maintains himself, and sustains himself. Thus, "should resort to remote lodgings." **One should wander alone like the horn of a rhinoceros.** Therefore that Paccekasambuddha said:
As the lion, strong in its fangs, the king of beasts,
wanders overpowering and subduing,
so should one resort to remote lodgings
and wander alone like the horn of a rhinoceros.
