[107] When one sees dissolution (vaya), what five characteristics (lakkhaṇa) does one see? "With the cessation of ignorance (avijjā) there is the cessation of form": thus, in the sense of the cessation of its condition (paccaya), one sees the dissolution of the form aggregate. "With the cessation of craving (taṇhā) there is the cessation of form": thus, in the sense of the cessation of its condition, one sees the dissolution of the form aggregate. "With the cessation of kamma there is the cessation of form": thus, in the sense of the cessation of its condition, one sees the dissolution of the form aggregate. "With the cessation of nutriment (āhāra) there is the cessation of form": thus, in the sense of the cessation of its condition, one sees the dissolution of the form aggregate. Seeing also the characteristic of change (vipariṇāma-lakkhaṇa), one sees the dissolution of the form aggregate. Seeing the dissolution of the form aggregate, one sees these five characteristics. Seeing arising and dissolution (udayabbaya), one sees these ten characteristics.
