[108] One contemplating the arising of the aggregate of feeling (vedanā): what five characteristics does one see?
One sees the arising of the aggregate of feeling in the sense of arising through conditions (paccaya) thus: 'With the origin of ignorance (avijjā) there is the origin of feeling.' One sees the arising of the aggregate of feeling in the sense of arising through conditions thus: 'With the origin of craving (taṇhā) there is the origin of feeling.' One sees the arising of the aggregate of feeling in the sense of arising through conditions thus: 'With the origin of kamma there is the origin of feeling.' One sees the arising of the aggregate of feeling in the sense of arising through conditions thus: 'With the origin of contact (phassa) there is the origin of feeling.' Also, seeing the characteristic of production (nibbatti), one sees the arising of the aggregate of feeling. One contemplating the arising of the aggregate of feeling sees these five characteristics.
