[192] There are utterances of phrasing and language (byañjana-nirutti-abhilāpa) for pointing out the five dhammas; there are utterances of phrasing and language for pointing out the five meanings (attha). The language-expressions for dhammas are one thing; the language-expressions for meanings are another. By whatever knowledge (ñāṇa) these various languages are known, by that very knowledge these various languages are penetrated. Therefore it is said: wisdom (paññā) in the diversity of languages is the knowledge of the discrimination of language (nirutti-paṭisambhidā).
