[220] What is the power of insight (vipassanābala)? Contemplation of impermanence (aniccānupassanā) is a power of insight; contemplation of suffering (dukkha) is a power of insight; contemplation of not-self (anattānupassanā) is a power of insight; contemplation of disenchantment (nibbidānupassanā) is a power of insight; contemplation of dispassion (virāgānupassanā) is a power of insight; contemplation of cessation (nirodhānupassanā) is a power of insight; contemplation of relinquishment (paṭinissaggānupassanā) is a power of insight. Contemplation of impermanence in form (rūpa) is a power of insight … contemplation of relinquishment in form is a power of insight; in feeling (vedanā) … in perception, in volitional formations, in consciousness, in the eye … contemplation of impermanence in aging and death is a power of insight … contemplation of relinquishment in aging and death is a power of insight.
