[269] What is the Tathāgata's knowledge (ñāṇa) of the superiority and inferiority of beings' faculties (indriyānaṃ paropariyatte ñāṇaṃ)?
Here the Tathāgata sees beings with little dust in their eyes and with much dust in their eyes, with keen faculties (tikkhindriya) and with dull faculties (mudindriya), of good disposition and of bad disposition, easy to instruct and hard to instruct; some who see fear in faults and in the world beyond, and some who do not see fear in faults and in the world beyond.
