[306] What are the sixteen views? The view of gratification (assādadiṭṭhi), the view of self (attānudiṭṭhi), wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi), personality-view (sakkāyadiṭṭhi), the eternalist view (sassatadiṭṭhi) based on personality, the annihilationist view (ucchedadiṭṭhi) based on personality, the view that grasps an extreme (antaggāhikā diṭṭhi), the view following the past (pubbantānudiṭṭhi), the view following the future (aparantānudiṭṭhi), the fettering view (saññojanikā diṭṭhi), the view bound up with the conceit "I" (ahanti mānavinibandhā diṭṭhi), the view bound up with the conceit "mine" (mamanti mānavinibandhā diṭṭhi), the view associated with the doctrine of self (attavādapaṭisaṃyuttā diṭṭhi), the view associated with the doctrine of the world (lokavādapaṭisaṃyuttā diṭṭhi), the view of existence (bhavadiṭṭhi), and the view of non-existence (vibhavadiṭṭhi). These are the sixteen views.
