[35] The meaning of seeing in right view (sammādiṭṭhi) should be directly known (abhiññeyya); the meaning of directing [the mind] onto [its object] in right thought (sammāsaṅkappa) should be directly known; the meaning of embracing in right speech (sammāvācā) should be directly known; the meaning of originating in right action (sammākammanta) should be directly known; the meaning of cleansing in right livelihood (sammā-ājīva) should be directly known; the meaning of exertion in right effort (sammāvāyāma) should be directly known; the meaning of establishment in right mindfulness (sammāsati) should be directly known; the meaning of non-distraction in right concentration (sammāsamādhi) should be directly known.
