[364] What are those states of singleness (ekatta)? Renunciation (nekkhamma) is a singleness; non-ill-will (abyāpāda) is a singleness; the perception of light (ālokasaññā) is a singleness; non-distraction (avikkhepa) is a singleness; the defining of dhammas (dhammavavatthāna) is a singleness; knowledge (ñāṇa) is a singleness; gladness (pāmujja) is a singleness; all wholesome dhammas are singleness.
What are those hindrances (nīvaraṇa)? Sensual desire is a hindrance; ill will is a hindrance; dullness and drowsiness is a hindrance; restlessness and remorse is a hindrance; doubt is a hindrance; ignorance is a hindrance; discontent (arati) is a hindrance; all unwholesome dhammas are hindrances.
