[444] In the four factors of stream-entry (sotāpattiyaṅga), by way of the faith faculty (saddhindriya), in what twenty modes should the conduct (cariyā) of the five faculties (indriya) be seen?
In the factor of stream-entry that is association with good persons (sappurisasaṃseva), the conduct of the faith faculty should be seen in the sense of dominance in resolution (adhimokkhādhipateyya); by way of the faith faculty, the conduct of the energy faculty (vīriyindriya) should be seen in the sense of exertion; the conduct of the mindfulness faculty (satindriya) should be seen in the sense of establishment; the conduct of the concentration faculty (samādhindriya) should be seen in the sense of non-distraction; the conduct of the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) should be seen in the sense of seeing. In the factor of stream-entry that is hearing the true Dhamma (saddhammassavana) … in the factor of stream-entry that is reasoned attention (yonisomanasikāra); in the factor of stream-entry that is practice in accordance with the Dhamma (dhammānudhammapaṭipatti), the conduct of the faith faculty should be seen in the sense of dominance in resolution; by way of the faith faculty, the conduct of the energy faculty should be seen in the sense of exertion; the conduct of the mindfulness faculty should be seen in the sense of establishment; the conduct of the concentration faculty should be seen in the sense of non-distraction; the conduct of the wisdom faculty should be seen in the sense of seeing. In the four factors of stream-entry, by way of the faith faculty, in these twenty modes the conduct of the five faculties should be seen.
