Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Paṭisambhidāmagga · Vol. 31 · Section 493

[493] When one attends [to things] as impermanent, the faith faculty (saddhindriya) becomes predominant; owing to the predominance of the faith faculty, one obtains the path of stream-entry (sotāpattimagga); therefore one is called a faith-follower (saddhānusārī). The four [other] faculties follow after it: they are conditions by way of connascence (sahajātapaccaya), conditions by way of mutuality (aññamaññapaccaya), conditions by way of dependence (nissayapaccaya), and conditions by way of association (sampayuttapaccaya). Through the power of the faith faculty there is the development of the four faculties. Whoever obtain the path of stream-entry through the power of the faith faculty — all of them are faith-followers. When one attends [to things] as impermanent, the faith faculty becomes predominant; owing to the predominance of the faith faculty, the fruition of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala) is realized; therefore one is called one resolved through faith (saddhādhimutta). The four faculties follow after it: they are conditions by way of connascence, conditions by way of mutuality, conditions by way of dependence, and conditions by way of association. Through the power of the faith faculty the four faculties are developed, well developed. Whoever realize the fruition of stream-entry through the power of the faith faculty — all of them are ones resolved through faith. When one attends [to things] as impermanent, the faith faculty becomes predominant; owing to the predominance of the faith faculty, one obtains the path of once-returning (sakadāgāmimagga) … the fruition of once-returning is realized; one obtains the path of non-returning (anāgāmimagga); the fruition of non-returning is realized; one obtains the path of arahantship (arahattamagga); the fruition of arahantship (arahattaphala) is realized; therefore one is called one resolved through faith. The four faculties follow after it … they are conditions by way of association. Through the power of the faith faculty the four faculties are developed, well developed. Whoever realize arahantship through the power of the faith faculty — all of them are ones resolved through faith.
