[50] The faith faculty (saddhindriya) should be directly known (abhiññeyya) in the sense of resolution (adhimokkha); the energy faculty (viriyindriya) should be directly known in the sense of exertion (paggaha); the mindfulness faculty (satindriya) should be directly known in the sense of establishment (upaṭṭhāna); the concentration faculty (samādhindriya) should be directly known in the sense of non-distraction (avikkhepa); the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) should be directly known in the sense of seeing (dassana). The power of faith (saddhābala) should be directly known in the sense of unshakability by faithlessness; the power of energy (viriyabala) should be directly known in the sense of unshakability by laziness (kosajja); the power of mindfulness (satibala) should be directly known in the sense of unshakability by heedlessness (pamāda); the power of concentration (samādhibala) should be directly known in the sense of unshakability by restlessness (uddhacca); the power of wisdom (paññābala) should be directly known in the sense of unshakability by ignorance (avijjā).
